This August, members of Mountain Women in Business had the enriching opportunity to attend the Conifer Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting. The meeting provided a platform not only for networking but also for essential community and business updates, making it a valuable day for all attendees.
Board and Ambassador Introductions
The event began with introductions from the Board of Directors and Chamber ambassadors. This segment set a welcoming tone, fostering a community spirit and paving the way for future collaborations among members.
Important Community Updates
A significant highlight was an update from Jefferson County Commissioner Andy Kerr regarding the Quarry fire. Thankfully, the fire is now 100% contained. We are relieved to report that there were no damages to structures or private land, as the fire was entirely within public open space. The few injuries reported were minor and limited to firefighters. Commissioner Kerr extended a heartfelt thanks to the first, second, and third responders, the Red Cross, and all the local, county, and state fire crews, including air support, for their diligent efforts in managing the situation.
Fun with Member Introductions
In a lively and engaging twist, member introductions were capped at 30 seconds, monitored by an hourglass timer, with a small bell to signal the time’s up. This playful approach not only kept the introductions crisp but also served as a practical exercise to hone our elevator speeches.
Exploring the Benefits of Chamber Membership
The event also included a thorough presentation on the benefits of Conifer Chamber membership. Notably, these benefits include a linkable business listing which enhances SEO on Google searches and an event calendar to keep all members informed of upcoming activities. This presentation prompted us to reevaluate our presence on the Chamber’s website to ensure Mountain Women in Business is fully leveraging these member benefits.
Upcoming Event
Mark your calendars for September 21st for the Conifer Chamber member appreciation event, with the location to be determined.
Let’s continue to support each other and make the most of our membership in this vibrant community.
