This past August 13th, a vibrant group of our Mountain Women in Business members gathered at the Platte Canyon Chamber of Commerce meeting including Deb Evans, Laura Bean, Cathy Frendshu, Paula Marquez, Erin Barrett, Jessica Bartak, Ginny Craig, Robin Davis, and Jeanne Hart. Here’s your insider scoop on what’s unfolding and how you can be a vibrant thread in the fabric of our community’s growth!

Volunteer, Engage!

Are you looking to make a meaningful impact in Bailey? The Platte Canyon Chamber is on a constant lookout for enthusiastic volunteers for a variety of events and projects that enrich our community. Whether it’s helping organize Bailey Days, contributing to the “Beautify Bailey” project, or spreading holiday cheer at Cowboy Christmas, there are endless opportunities to contribute. The best part? You don’t need to be a Chamber member to volunteer—everyone in the community is welcome to join in! If you’re interested in lending a hand and making a difference, please reach out here to get involved. Together, we can continue to make Bailey a wonderful place to live, work, and play.

Transformative Times for Bailey Schools

Big changes are on the horizon for our youngest residents. By the 2025/2026 school year, all Bailey school kids, from the tiniest tots to our towering teens, will share a unified campus. This move isn’t just about buildings—it’s about building a tighter, more integrated community where our children can thrive from their first ABCs to their high school graduations.

Roads, Renovations, and Revitalizations

The chatter of construction might soon become a familiar sound along Highway 285, thanks to CDOT’s plans for potential new truck scales and paving projects stretching from Grant to Pine Junction. But that’s not all—keep an eye out for the King Valley to Richmond Hill road work kicking off next year. Each of these projects is a step towards safer, smoother travels for everyone in our town. https://www.parkcountyco.gov/922/2024-Project-Updates

Culture and Celebration in the Air

Did anyone else catch the last magical performances at Bailey Theater Company at Glen Isle? If you missed out, don’t worry—there are plenty more cultural treats in store.

Mark your calendars for the McGraw Park history tour on August 17th, a perfect outing for history buffs and curious minds alike. For more information go to www.parkcountyhistory.com

And there’s more festivity on the horizon with our “Beautify Bailey” project. The Chamber is searching for artists and those passionate about public art! Here’s your chance to leave a lasting visual impact on our town by bringing vibrant murals to life.
